Open Source GIS Introductory Course at FOSS4G

The organizers of FOSS4G are offering an introductory course on open source geospatial software on Tuesday, September 13th in Denver, Colorado.  The full day offering offers insight on questions about the capabilities, support, and integrations with commercial cloud software.  The target audience is users, developers, and managers who work in the geospatial field but aren’t familiar with the open source GIS options available.

Several case studies will be presented, with details on the tools deployed, how they were implemented, and the results that were achieved. There will also be a panel discussion that focuses on the various business models for making money using open source geospatial software.

The course can either be attended as a standalone event or as a precursor to the FOSS4G conference.  More details about the day are here.
