Google has announced a joint venture with the Holocaust Memorial Museum with the goal of using their Google Earth technology to further awareness of the crisis in the Darfur region of Sudan. In addition to the access to Google’s satellite imagery of the region, the Museum has contributed numerous photos, data and personal histories to provide the user with information as part of Google’s “Global Awareness Layers”.
