Geography Cup – Battle Across the Pond

| |

Started by American, Roger Andreson and British Daniel Raven-Ellison, this competition is trying to determine, once a for all, which side of the pond has the best geography acumen. Started on November 14 and running through December 31st, this competition pits Americans against the Britsh by asking competitors to place 13 random countries on a map within two minutes.

Since the competition was opened, more than 21,000 people have gone online to compete. Registration is required but the competition is free to participate in. Currently, the countries are running about even in the competition. The race is lopsided with the website reporting over 17,000 competitors from the United States and only a little over 3,000 from the United Kingdom.
