GeoBriefs: James Fee Celebrates Five Years of Blogging, Waze Goes Local with Los Angeles


James Fee’s blog passed the five year mark on May 25th with “1,688 posts and 13,450 comments.”  James Fee has one of the most popular GIS related blogs at  James Fee was recently profiled on GIS Lounge.

Waze, the crowdsourcing traffic application, has announced their first local site for Los Angeles.  The local site distills Waze traffic information to the local level; there’s a scrolling list of live road reports and a small map showing recent reports.  Waze is currently support on iPhone, Android, Blackberry (beta version) and a few other select Windows and Symbian mobile devices.
