Caliper is pleased to announce that the State Legislative Districts Data Product is now available for the entire USA or for a single US state. Three area databases are provided that reflect the latest boundaries for Congressional Districts, State House/Assembly (lower chamber) districts, and State Senate (upper chamber) districts. These layers are packed with essential information for corporate legislative affairs departments, lobbyists, political consultants, political parties, and anyone else involved in political affairs. Each legislative district includes 2010 Census counts for age, race, gender, ethnicity, and housing, as well as 2017 American Community Survey (ACS) data for income, occupation, education, language spoken, marital status, travel mode and time, housing value, and housing costs. By using the legislative district data with Maptitude mapping software, you will be able to answer questions such as “In which districts are my addresses located?” or “In which districts should I expend the most effort?” The price is $1,295 for the entire United States or $495 for a single state.

Caliper is excited to announce the release of new 2019 Country Packages for its Maptitude mapping software. Maptitude Country Packages bring the power and flexibility of our Maptitude product suite to a global audience and enable our customers to make geolocation-based decisions internationally. The 2019 Country Packages include 4th quarter 2018 map content. Updated map layers, such as refreshed streets and postal codes are provided for each country, as well as updated travel times and improved address matching.

The Business Geography Specialty Group (BGSG) of the Association of American Geographers (AAG) announced the winners of the 2019 Student Paper Competition in Business Geography at the 2019 AAG Meeting in Washington DC. The purpose of this competition is to promote scholarship and written and oral presentation by students in the field. Papers are invited from current graduate and undergraduate students on any topic in business geography including Retail, Real Estate, Financial Services, Insurance, Manufacturing, Transportation, Marketing, Risk Assessment and Risk Management as well as Supply Chain Management and Logistics. The Maptitude mapping software team is proud to have provided corporate sponsorship for the Student Paper Competition. The prizes benefit students in higher education studying geography, with the goal to help develop business geography professionals. Brett Lucas, the BGSG Chair, stated, “We had a great Student Paper Competition session with many excellent presentations. Our first and second place winners were Connor Reed and Matt Sorenson, both of University of North Texas. In addition to winning cash awards, they will each receive a student license of Maptitude 2019.”

Caliper is excited to announce the release of new highway exit data for the United States and Canada. Users of Maptitude 2019 with the Canada or United States Country Packages can download a free point layer containing all signed and numbered highway exits within their respective country. The highway exits layer allows users to find the nearest highway interchange to a particular location or determine proximity to a desired interchange. Applications include site location assessment, commercial real estate, franchise development, and accessibility studies. The data can also be used in conjunction with the free U.S. traffic count data to determine traffic volumes around a chosen exit.
