Google launched its StreetView imagery program in five cities in the United States on this date.  The program started with users being able to access street level imagery for Times Square, New York CityThe Golden Gate Bride in San Francisco, and South Beach in Miami.  More: Google StreetView Launches and The Many Modes of Google’s Street View Program.
