The U.S. Census Bureau has released 2010 Census Demographic Profiles that can be viewed overlain onto Google Maps. The 2010 Census Interactive Population application allows viewers to see demographic data covering population, race, ethnicity, age/sex, and housing status. Not all of the states are available for viewing and access is being rolled out on a state by state basis.
To view data for a particular location or state type in the name in the search box. For areas where Census 2010 has been released, the map will pan to the area and symbolize the demographic data that you have selected to view. You can also grab the map and center to select an area within the crosshairs that show up. Use the Geographic Level menu to toggle different levels of Census data ranging from the national level to Census Block. Click on a shaded area for a popup box with more information and select the compare link to add additional locations.

Census to KML
Bruce Ralston from the Geography Department at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, has posted a program that will convert U.S. Census TIGER format files to Google KML format. The program works with TIGER formats from dating from 1994 to 2006. Additionally, the source code and associated white paper will also be posted to the site by the end of September.

Census 2010 Preparation Tool
ESRI has released Census Tools for ArcGIS to help local governments with their GIS related preparation for the 2010 census. The extension was specifically designed to help users work with spatial data from the U.S. Census Bureau as part of the the Local Update of Addresses (LUCA) and Boundary and Annexation Survey (BAS) programs.
The Districting Extension for ArcView GIS allows you to create defined groupings of geographic data such as Census tracts, zip codes, and precincts by creating a districting plan. Free download from ESRI.
