Cartography 2.0

Cartography 2.0 is a new site with the purpose of providing up-to-date information about web mapping technologies.  The site authors seeks to provide an extensive knowledge base that will help answer the question, “What’s the important stuff I need to know about making great on-demand/interactive maps?” The site is edited by Dr. Mark Harrower, a professor at the University of Wisconsin-Madison as well as a partner Axis Maps LLC. Dr. Anthony Robinson and Robert Roth, both of Penn State’s GeoVISTA Center and Dr. Ben Sheesley, also from Axis Maps, round out the contributor team.  The site is organized as an electronic textbook with chapters on Map Animation, Map Interaction Techniques, Elements of Design, User Interface and Usability and Advanced Topics.   The site continues to grow and there’s a sign-up box at the bottom of the chapters page for those interested in being notified when new content is available.
