About Caitlin Dempsey Morais

Experience:

Caitlin started out in the GIS field as an intern for the National Park Service headquartered in the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area. Before moving to municipal GIS she was a GIS analyst for a natural resource agency located in Topanga, California. In addition to her work with GIS Lounge, Caitlin Dempsey Morais is the owner of DM Geographics, LLC, a consulting firm.

Education:

Caitlin earned her master’s degree in biogeography from UCLA. She spent her last year sidestepping rattlesnakes (well, one at least) in an effort to look at the effects of hiking trails on native vegetation in the Santa Monica Mountains. Thesis: Vegetation Structure in Northern Mixed Chaparral as Affected by Trail Usage and Location
