Spread the Word: GIS Day (November 16, 2011) Rounding Out Geography Awareness Week

GIS Day will be held on November 19ths this year and is celebrated as part of Geography Awareness Week each year.  If you’re wondering what you can do in honor of GIS Day, there are plenty of sites you can visit to find a GIS Day event near you or to find virtual events and activities that you can participate in.

    Sponsored by ESRI, the official GIS Day Web Site has a list of GIS Day events around the world.  Download free material for your own GIS Day event or send an email postcard to your favorite GISer.
  • Geography Awareness Week Events
    Check out National Geographic’s Geography Awareness Event page where you can download their Geo-Games kit which provides materials for planning a Geography in Action Geo-Game at your local school.
