Esri UC Plenary Session Videos Now Online #esriuc Early Tidbits from the ESRI User Conference

Last year I had to sit out the Esri International User Conference since I had only given birth the month before.  Now, with a now toddler at home that’s not quite ready for me to be away from her overnight, I have to also sit out this year’s Conference.  It’s a great GIS conference and, if you are a user of Esri software, it’s one of the conferences to participate in.  There, however, are still ways to remotely keep a finger on the pulse of the conference.  The best way is through the eyes of some of the more prominent bloggers and GIS media analysts.

Listed here are some of my favorite sources for Esri User Conference news:

UC Insider – follow conference news and updates directly from Esri.

James Fee has been live blogging the plenary session at the Esri UC.

Podcaster Frank Lafone of VerySpatial is also living blogging the plenary session.  All of VerySpatial’s Esri UC coverage can be found here.

Joe Francica and Adena Schutzberg will provide plenty of coverage over at All Points Blog.

Matt Ball at Spatial Sustain is also providing coverage of the Esri UC.

GIS Book Pick

The Look of Maps: An Examination of Cartographic Design is a cartographic classic by Arthur H. Robinson originally published in 1952. The book was based on Robinson’s doctoral research “which investigated the relationship between science and art in cartography and the resultant refinement of graphic techniques in mapmaking to present dynamic geographic information.”
